Content-based image database as a service

There are image-focused web sites which could benefit from visual content-based query-by-example or query-by-sketch search, in order to improve user experience and help they find more image content. Such a content-based search could be combined with tradition keyword search, average color or domain-specific metadata in order to improve search precision and recall.

The objective of the isk-Services project is to provide content-based image indexing and retrieval in a transparent way for image-related web sites. This hosted service would store all content-based data about the web site images and provide web services for querying/retrieving data.

Think of it as content-based image retrieval (CBIR) as a service (SaaS).
